Break out the shoe polish and that old toothbrush to clean your shoes if you came to our grand opening party last night at Encore — we had over 1,000 people!! Thanks for all the support from our friends and family. Also, much love to Laced Mentality, OMG Events, and AMP (hey ladies!) for the promotional help.
Hopefully you got your hands on some of the goodies we threw out. Come by the SHO to redeem your discounts and gift cards, or if you were one of the lucky few to catch a shoe, then come get the other one to complete the pair.
We didn’t get to announce the winner of the Best Sneaker Contest last night, but huge props to Colorado from the Heat Seekers crew!! Rockin’ the Nike Dunk High x Grammy’s (whoa!). It’s Friday night, and I just got paid…
We are looking forward to officially celebrating the opening of SHOGUN with all of our friends, fans, and family this Friday at Encore in Dallas. We appreciate the massive support that we’ve received so far and look forward to what’s down the road for SHOGUN — and trust me, we have plenty of exciting new ideas in the works.
The Laced Mentality and OMG Events crews are helping us with the party, so a huge shout out to them. We will have the AMP Energy girls giving away freebies all night. There will be SHOGUN bags at the end of the night with tons of discounts, stickers, goodies, and a few bags will have special bonus items, so make sure to get your hands on one of these.
We will be giving away a prize (hint: free SHOGUN stuff) for the best pair of sneakers so make sure to bring the heat this Friday. Sorry but no fakies, so put away those Gucci-print Air Force One’s.
And lacing us with the music all night will be Dallas’ very own Grammy-winning production duo Play-N-Skillz!!

Back to School!
Fall is just around the corner, and we are getting some good stuff in at the shop just in time for school! So flip through for some back to school gear.

Arctic Monkeys
The Arctic Monkeys are an alternative-indie (and did I mention brilliant?) rock band from Sheffield, England, formed in 2002. This band is definitely one of my favorite bands of this decade. They’re best known for their 2006 #1 single (in the UK Singles Charts) “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” from the album “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not”. They came out harder with their sophomore album “Favourite Worst Nightmare” with singles such as “Brianstorm” and “Fluorescent Adolescent” and are in the midst of releasing their third album “Humbug” on August 25th. If you enjoy tunes that are uptempo and filled with catchy one-liners that you can’t ever seem to stop reciting, then you are bound to love the Arctic Monkeys.

Iron Man 2 Preview
The sequel to one of the best comic book movies ever is quickly approaching in summer 2010. Promotions usually start a year before the release date, so in this genre, that means presenting at San Diego Comic Con.
In what has turned into sort of a tradition, the creative minds behind the Iron Man franchise have once again turned to this venue to debut the first look at Iron Man 2. In following along with the comics, Tony Stark is always looking for improvements to his armor. Here we get the first look at the Mark IV suit.
The line details seem to have a more streamlined look. Personally, I prefer the look to the previous look due to it’s more industrial aesthetics. Either way, from what I’ve read, the thing to look out for will be War Machine’s armor. So I’ll hold off any opinions until then. For more visit wired.com.

Grand Opening Party
In honor of our grand opening (ignore the fact we’ve been open for 3 months), Shogun will be sponsoring a party at Encore in Dallas. We’ll have giveaways like apparel, accessories, shoes, watches, etc.
There will be a best KICKS contest for all you sneakerheads and AMP energy girls will be there giving away amp energy drinks and goodies. Show up in a Shogun tee and receive reduced cover.
I know it’s a long way from our home in Ft. Worth. But don’t worry, our official instore grand opening will be soon after on Saturday, August 29th. We’re planning on having a cookout, a keg and oh yeah, we’ll be dropping an exclusive tee for that day only. I haven’t even mentioned the specials we’ll have for tax-free weekend.
