The Raygun tee is my personal favorite from our upcoming Summer release. It’s design was inspired by a recent trip to the Andy Warhol Exhibit at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

I forget the name of the actual piece in particular, but I believe it was created in response to him being shot.

Around the same time, I came across a small toy gun graphic in a children’s book. It was a very simple design, but I was really attached to the shape and character of it.
So I set about making a design similar in style to the Warhol piece, but in a more playful manner using the toy graphic as my inspiration.

I found and purchased a book on vintage toy guns from the 60′s. There wasn’t anything in the book similar to the graphic shown above, so I ended up patching together parts from 4-5 different guns and adding some details of my own.
Add a few more steps for the silkscreen effect and I arrived at the final version you see printed on the tee. By no means should this be compared to the Warhol piece, but I wanted to be able to pull all the elements together into a cohesive design. And hopefully, this t-shirt will be someone else’s favorite as well.
