At Shogun not only do we run a business but we are HUGE and genuine supporters of the streetwear culture. With that being said most people enter the streetwear culture come from a passion of collecting exclusive sneakers. For those of you that are new to the blog we like to dedicate a little time to share our passion for sneakers with you guys so we present. SNEAKER HEADS.

SO WITHOUT FURHTER ADO…..

One of the most HYPED shoes in recent memory would have to be the Nike Air Yeezy. I’m guessing you guys already know how exclusive the shoe was, and the limited quantities that it came in. The first prototype was worn by non other than Kanye West himself during the Glow In The Dark Tour. When the sample pics were released hypebeast, highsnobiety, nice kicks along with any other sneaker page went nuts over the anticipation over the shoe. With the rumors of a suspected Yeezy II coming in the spring I thought I’d pull these old things out the box, and give them a little write up. We were part of the fortunate few that were able to get pairs before the prices sky rocketed online. The pair that is being shown below have been worn a few times and as you can see still appear to be in great condition. They’ve stood the test of time and were well worth the money. These are NOT for sale (Unless you throw a good number out!). Just thought they would be appropriate for a good blog post. Until the next Sneaker Heads post Enjoy!

Got a shipment of the Burn Rubber X New Balance Collaboration. The guys over at Burn Rubber did a great job with the design on the MT580. We are 1 of 20 stockist in the U.S. to get the shoe in stock. The shoes are now available for sale $155 and the sizes are going quick. DONT SLEEP! Below is a little info about how the shoe was conceived

“Historically the New Balance MT580 is a shoe released out of Asia with various collaborators. This marks the first time that the shoe has been collaborated on and brought through by the New Balance America team.

In business since 2004 Burn Rubber is Metro Detroit’s first premium sneaker boutique. The Burn Rubber name is a play on a phrase from the Motor City’s car culture. The name came from the comparison of the use of sneakers on a person to the use of tires on a car. Burn Rubber is known throughout their community as the place to get hard to find, limited edition sneakers and clothing.

Burn Rubber made the shoe their own by applying a shop colored theme and utilizing materials in unique ways. The custom designed argyle pattern that lines the inside of the shoe was created to incorporate all of the company’s branded colors. A reflective 3M material, originally developed to reflect light for night running, was also used throughout the mostly gray shoe to give the design another dimension. The majority of the shoe design is comprised of New Balance’s premium nubuck and gray mesh, and completed with a touch of patent leather and a classic gum sole.

As one of the most recognizable aspects of the Burn Rubber brand they have chosen to include the shop’s mascot on the hangtag provided with each shoe. The Chef, originally created to be “just another T-Shirt design,” ended up taking on a life of its own. The photo shoot for this project was done from the perspective of a chef and was intended to bring light to the story of Burn Rubber’s popular logo & style.”

We don’t know if we consider ourselves as “sneaker heads” but we do know that we enjoy the culture that shoes/sneakers inspires. We at Shogun are always on the hunt for the latest in the sneaker world, whether it be helping a customer find their “holy grails” or just trying to get the latest hot shoe into the shop for our customers. Sneaker Head’s will be a column we will do on a regular basis on ANY shoe we think deserves a review or write up about.

For our first Sneaker Head write up, I chose to do it on a Nike ID that I designed around this time last year, the Nike Trainer 1. At the time, I was looking for a light comfortable work out shoe so I can hit the gym in. I considered buying the “John McEnroe” version of this shoe but decided to head over to Nike ID and design my own pair. For this pair I went with white/silver/black as the main colors, for the Flywire and the outlining of the Swoosh I went with hints of “Shogun purple” the laces are also the same purple. The heal of the shoe is customized with the left heal saying “SHO” and the right “GUN”. This shoe is by far one of the most comfortable shoes I own. And for $125 you can have your own customized pair!
