Back again with the 10th installment of ShoTunes. We have been getting a great response from you guys, our goal is provide you guys with some of the music that we listen to on a everyday basis here at the shop. One of my favorite artist is Rick Ross. He continues to put out great quality music. He is emerging as one of the next artist to leave his stamp on the hip hop game in a major way. His last 2 albums have been nothing short of classic. He is continuing to stay relevant as he just released a mixtape and is hoping on tracks with the heavyweights in the game. The 2 tracks below are his latest singles. Looks like Rozay is starting the year off strong 2011 should

Yeezzzzzyyyyy……

One of the songs that didn’t make it on to the album leaked out this week. You hear a few of the punchlines he used in a few “freestyles”. I’m curious to see what KanYe has in store with Jay Z as they drop their “Watch the Throne” album here soon. This year should be G.O.O.D for KanYe as well as the rest of the G.O.O.D music team.

If you ever gave a fuck maybe you should listen up……

As the anticipation continues to grow for the duo’s second mixtape they drop the trailer for the project. 2011 will be a big year for the group. Expect huge moves from the Sore Losers.

The rest of ShoTunes show cases a few up and coming artist in the game – With Kendrick Lamar and Cyhi highlighting the the group. Also the song Bodies from Curtains that I posted a few post back now has visuals to go along with it. The others posted are dope as well give them a listen. In the coming months we will be working to put together a ShoTunes Mixtape. We will be working close with a few brands trying to put out a quality mixtape. All entries are welcome.

NOW TO THE MAIN EVENT…

Whether we like to admit it or not Drake has the game in the palm of his hands right now. I know many including myself have tried to dislike drake at some point. Seems like the more he grows in popularity the less we try to like him. Truth is he just delivers! Everything he touches catches fire. Just off the heels of his multi platinum album “Thank Me Later” Drake is expected to release a R&B mixtape entitled “Its Never Enough.” Below is the first official single “I Get Lonely Too”. Give it a listen and let us know your thoughts.

DUECES?

Guess it has a double meaning for T.I., saying deuces to a chick in the song, but he could be saying deuces to his career as well after getting into more legal trouble. I personally like T.I. and want to see him do well not only as a rapper but as a person as well. Hopefully he can rebound…Again!

The line up for this track is ridiculous, and I mean that in a good way. When you can get the likes of Andre 3000, Drake, Kanye, Rick Ross, TI, and Loso on the same track you cant expect much else but FIRE! Its great to see the re-emergence of the great Andre 3000, hopefully this is a sign of new and great things to come from the already legendary rapper.

WHO’S GOT NEXT?…

Lyrics. Tough to associate that with a southern artist, but not when it comes to G.Bailey. If you haven’t heard of Bailey take this as your warning. In the new wave of D/FW artists bailey is right up there with the best of them. Below are two of his latest tracks “Clarification” over the latest Kanye Track “So Appalled,” and “The Life.” Do yourself a favor and get familiar with the DFW artist.

You may have heard or seen the name Chip Tha Ripper. He is a good friend of Kid Cudi and has appeared on a few of Cudi’s tracks on his mixtapes and album and undoubtedly has talent that won’t go unnoticed. Now, he has his own featured mixtape titled “The Cleveland Show” presented by Mick Boogie and Terry Urban.

I’ve had this mixtape for a little over a month now, and is definitely my favorite mixtape of 2009, which says a lot considering Lil Wayne‘s cohort Drake, 10Deep‘s 2009 feature Donnis, and Oklahoma native Jabee also dropped great mixtapes in 2009 that I’ve enjoyed. The production is unparalleled and has a couple of tracks that use samples from Santogold and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. His lyrical style takes after the title, and now someone else is running the show out in Cleveland other than Lebron James.

Also gotta love the cover art with an illustration of Chip fitting Black/Pink Nike Air Yeezys and Louis Vuitton Millionaire sunglasses in a fashion that mocks the animation of ‘Family Guy’ and the actual ‘The Cleveland Show’.
