Pac Attack!
As you may already know, we here at the Shogun camp are HUGE Pacquiao fans! So huge, we even designed a tee dedicated to the man! We were lucky enough to get to attend both Pacquiao and Clottey workouts earlier this week. Special shout outs to DJ Danny West for the hookup!
On another note, our Pac-Man tees are almost all gone! Good news is that we will be getting a small restock of tees this Saturday for the Pre-Fight Party. This time it will be in a limited blue colorway. So if you didn’t have a chance to scoop up your Pac-Man tee…this will be your chance!

In anticipation of the Manny Pacquiao vs Joshua Clottey fight that is set to go down on March 13, 2010 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX! We will be hosting a Pre-Fight party here at SHOGUN. Pound 4 Pound Champ
After having such a good response to our All-Star tee, it was a given that we had to do something special for the next event at Cowboys Stadium. On Saturday, March 13, the Pound for Pound Champ, Manny Pacquiao takes on some guy I’ve never heard of, Joshua Clottey. This one is a little more personal, since we have a lot of friends, family and customers in the Filipino community.
A few ideas were tossed around like illustrations and logo variations. Since our recent release have been more along those lines, I wanted something that was a little more text-based. So from there, it was deciding what to say. Should it be one of his nicknames or something like a quote? If I wanted to keep the graphic bold, it would definitely have to be something short like a nickname.
The first one I tried was ‘National Fist,’ which is his nickname in the Philippines. For what I had in mind for the graphic though, something more recognizable was needed. I ended up going with his most common nickname, ‘Pac Man’. I also felt it was necessary to pay homage to the Filipino community by adding the “sun” on the sleeve.
The letters to his name are drawn in the shape of a boxing glove. To be more specific, it’s a Cleto Reyes glove that Pacquiao uses to fight. Hard punchers prefer these gloves, because they’re stuffed with horse hair, without much padding to them.
The Pacquiao tee will be available this coming Friday, March 5th. Be on the look out for our online store coming soon also!

Shogun’s All Star Quickstrike tee
The hype from Dallas’s All Star Weekend has finally died down. And our limited All Star tee is nearly gone. We only printed 50 tees and sold all but 4, the only sizes we have left are larges. So if you’re a large and you haven’t gotten one, swing through or give us a call to lock it up. For those of you that were lucky enough to get one, send an @ Twitter message to @shogunstore with a picture of yourself wearing the tee to receive 25% off your next purchase at the shop.
Also, stay tuned for a special release tee we will be doing for a big event that is happening here in the metroplex here in a few weeks.

All Star Sneakend Recap
First and foremost, we would like to thank everybody who braved the inclement weather to attend the festivities of the All-Star Sneakend at the House of Blues in Dallas! The turn out was great! If you weren’t able to make it out, you were definitely missing out on meeting some of the coolest people such as Fran “Franalations” Marchello and seeing some serious HEAT. When we decided to make a shirt commemorating the All-Star game in Dallas, only one player came to mind… Dirk Nowitzki. Let’s check out his credentials.
- 9 time All-Star
- 9 time All-NBA Team
- 2007 MVP
- Only 1 of 5 players in NBA history to average + 25ppg and + 10rpg in the NBA playoffs
- Dallas Mavericks’ all-time leader in points, rebounds, field goals, field goal attempts, 3-pointers, 3-point attempts, free throws, and free-throw attempts.
Yeah, that’s a pretty long list. It’s amazing that he achieved all this despite everything working against him. He was drafted out of high school from Germany. The Mavericks were widely criticized for drafting Nowitzki and passing on Paul Pierce. He was labeled as the next person in a line of white guys with no skill such as Eric Montross, Cherokee Parks and Shawn Bradley. For years his nick name was Irk – because he had no D.
Pretty soon though, the Mavericks developed into a winning team. With Michael Finley and Steve Nash, they would go on to be a playoff contender year in and year out. After the loss of the aforementioned players, Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas to it’s only NBA Finals appearance in 2006.

SHOGUN Holiday Preview 3
Shobot – We have yet to introduce everyone to Shobot, but he is the protector of our little shop here in Fort Worth. Watch for many of our designs to include him in the mix. If you didn’t get a chance to grab the first shirt to feature our Shobot mascot then here is your chance to cop this one.
Magnets – Womens and kids exclusive tee, we thought we would do something a little fun for the women and children. The words Shogun is made up of alphabet magnets that you may see on the refrigerator at homes with little ones. The women’s comes in royal blue, while the kid’s are available in navy.
Fox – John did a sketch of his dream woman Megan Fox with her strapped, SHOwing her guns! We all liked the sketch so decided to put it on a tee. Ya’ll might recognize the influence on this one.
So that about does it for the previews for our Holiday release. We hope there’s something for everyone to appreciate and pick up. All styles except the LT shirt are available in women’s cut. We’re open early tomorrow at 11am, so we hope to you see then.

SHOGUN Holiday Preview 2
“Hello, it’s the Martian. Space Jam Jordans.”
Every sneakerhead in the game should have their calendars marked, a requested day off from work, and their lawn chairs ready for December 23, 2009. If you don’t, than you’re obviously not ready for one of (if not) the biggest sneaker releases this year. The Air Jordan XI “Space Jams” are being retro released in the US to conclude a year of quite possibly the best year of sneaker releases any of us can remember in recent times, and to welcome a new decade.
In anticipation of the “Space Jams” release next month, we have two specially designed t-shirts to go along with our Holiday Collection. These tees are hot, so be prepared to buy a new monitor. I don’t want to be liable for any of them when these pictures somehow burn a hole through them.
First up is the Space Jam logo, but renewed with our favorite word, “SHOGUN.”
Second, we have a black Marvin the Martian head and his blasters on a varsity royal tee (Space Jam colorway) in a form to replicate our logo (the skull and guns).
Don’t say I didn’t warn you (as if you can actually read this).

SHOGUN Holiday Preview 1
Black Friday marks the release of our first collection of tees. The designs are influenced by many of our interests, which range from sports, pop culture and toys, just to name a few.
Certain themes we hope to carry over from season to season. One of those would be paying tribute to modern day shoguns, people who are leaders in their craft, whether it be athletics, entertainment or art.
First up is the LaDainian Tomlinson tee. For those of who don’t know, Tomlinson played college football at TCU and helped the Horned Frogs win its first bowl win in 41 years. He led the NCAA in rushing for 2 years straight as a junior and as a senior. In the 2001 draft, Tomlinson was drafted 5th overall by the San Diego Chargers and currently holds the all-time NFL record for single season touchdowns at 31. LT is a modern day warrior whom we consider a true Shogun.
Of course we have a logo tee, this time coming in a nice black on charcoal colorway. They will be available free with a purchase of $75 or more on Black Friday.
We’ve put a lot of time into this first collection, which I hope is evident when you see it. Stay tuned tomorrow for another look at what we have in store.
